As part of activities marking the 16 days of activism campaign, the Justice, Development and Peace Commission (JDPC), Ijebu-Ode in collaboration with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), Coalition of Women Association in Ogun State (COWAOS), the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Transport Unions and other partners, embarked on a road-walk to raise the awareness on gender-based violence in Ijebu-Ode
The roadwalk train, in its impactful journey, visited the notable Oba Adetona Market (Oke-Aje) and key transportation hubs (Lagos and Ibadan Garages) in Ijebu-Ode, sensitizing audiences and creating awareness on the menace of Gender-Based Violence. Additionally, the team extended its reach to the Ijebu-Ode Local Government Council Secretariat, with the intention to meet with the Council Chairman and his team to discuss the prevalence of Gender-Based Violence, reinforcing our commitment to spreading the message against harmful behaviors and advocating for positive change.
The heart of the rally echoed a resounding message against harmful behaviors, emphasizing the importance of ending every forms of violence against women and girls, while women were encouraged to embrace virtuous roles in their homes. Importantly, we stood alongside victims of violence, urging them to break the silence and speak out against injustice.

The road walk served as a dynamic platform for awareness and education. JDPC, Ijebu-Ode remains committed to fostering a community where gender-based violence has no place.
