The Human Rights Education Unit of the Justice, Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) Ijebu-Ode paid an advocacy visit to the Commission for Education, Science and Technology on the 23rd of April 2024, to collaborate with the Ministry, on Human Rights Education and TOUCH ME NOT campaign through our existing Peace Club in schools and colleges. The TOUCH ME NOT campaign is an anti-sexual campaign to encourage the students and victims to speak out on rape, or other sexual abuse activities.
The JDPC Ijebu-Ode introduces suggestion boxes also known as the voice boxes. With these boxes, over 100 cases have been reported so far and there is need to intensify the campaign in schools and colleges. The Commissioner for Education Prof. Abayomi Adelaja Arigbabu appreciated the JDPC Ijebu-Ode for the good work that the Commission is doing and it’s worth emulating most especially in the areas of Human Rights Education in schools, communities and associations.
