MOTORCYCLE RIDERS SAY NO TO DOUBLE TAXATION IN OGUN STATE.

Lately due to the removal of fuel subsidy, there has been irregular increment in pump price which has consequently affected majority of commodities. Even though Federal government has rolled out palliatives, it has still not cushion the ripple effect of this inflation.

Moreover, it came to our notice that the motorcycle riders otherwise known as Okada riders reported that “initially, we do take government tickets of Three hundred Naira (300) and another association (Romo) ticket of Two Hundred Naira (200) which was lorded on all riders in Ijebu-ode”. Although a case as being instituted in court against the lording of this association. But while the government ticket remains the same, this association has increased theirs to Three Hundred Naira (300) from Two Hundred Naira (200) which is not fair at this time of economic hardship.
These riders are calling on stakeholders to come to their aid to disallow the compulsion of association ticket on all riders as this is infringing on their right to freedom of association.
